Swan Business Group is a software engineering company. We design and ship native applications for iOS and Android, the cloud services they run on, and applied AI that does something useful rather than something impressive.

We work as a small senior team, with partners brought in where a project needs depth we don't keep in-house. Most of our work runs end to end — architecture through to the store listing.

Mobile applications

What we're building

Alongside client work we build and run our own products. It keeps us honest: the same standards we ask a client to fund, we pay for ourselves.

A cross-platform expense-splitting app — a shared ledger that explains every number it shows you, with receipt scanning, voice entry and offline support. It ships on iOS, Android and the web.

A multi-tenant rental marketplace, in development: independent operators running their own fleet, pricing and availability on one platform, with bookings and payouts handled end to end.

Several client engagements run in parallel, under agreements that keep their details private.

Understand the problem

Before any architecture, what the thing has to do and who it has to do it for. Half of engineering is deciding what not to build.
Build in slices

Something working end to end early, then depth. A demo in week three beats a design document in month three.
Prove it, then ship it

Tests that fail for the right reason, measurements rather than assumptions, and a way to turn a feature off without a deploy.
Hand it over properly

Runbooks, decisions with their reasoning, and code your own team can carry forward.
